However, amidst Limbo's despair and uncertainty, hope emerges, manifested by nature and its inhabiting creatures, such as birds and horses.The cinematic then follows to show a human figure in a fetal position, unconscious and covered with script-like traces of a past life. As their eyes open, light and movement gather, lifting the figure beyond the island’s confines towards another state. He uses game engines, immersive technologies, 3D-printing and metalwork to create immersive experiences, cinematics, virtual spaces and physical objects for the purpose of eco-storytelling and worldbuilding. The technological singularity theory, speculative fiction and climate change are prevalent topics explored in his work. His practice, "David Reason Studio", has been in residence at Makerversity in Somerset House since 2022. Since late 2024, David has served as the Year 3 Tutor for the BA Creative Direction for Fashion course at the London College of Fashion, having worked there previously as a Specialist Technician in New Media since 2022, teaching digital media, immersive technologies and architectural design across BA and MA courses. From 2017 to 2019, David worked at dMFK Architects during which time he was involved in the development of projects in London and Frankfurt for The Office Group, across RIBA stages 1-4. Additionally, since early 2024 David has been a Short Course Tutor, delivering Unreal Engine short courses at Wimbledon College of Arts. showcases “Map_2” included in Chapter I and V of “Scraper”. Scraper (2023) is a 71 minute mixed-reality film presented in six chapters by Most Dismal Swamp. The film was commissioned by the KW Institute for the Poetics of Encryption program. The full film is available for viewing via the&nbsp;following website link. David Reason Studio produced two realtime environments, namely “Map_1” and “Map_2”, and the cinematics pertaining to these environements, included in chapters I, III, V and VI of Scraper.
